    <p>A YouTube user named lrharrisjr has put up two videos taken on May 3rd at Disneyland that show a test of a meet and greet with Mickey in which Mickey is able to talk to the guests and even interact with them by name (as seen in the second video).</p>

    That is so neat. Tons of little ones are going to be so happy to be able to interact with Mickey like that. Very neat indeed.

    It looks like they are just testing it. Its not gonna be a normal thing yet, i don't think. Could be a while before he is back

    Very impressive. I suppose this also will mean the end soon to situations where Mickey makes an appearance at an important event of some sort on stage, but doesn't say anything. Those always seemed a bit odd to me, although I understand why it costs (used to cost?) a lot more to have Mickey talk than just make an appearance in person.

    We've had this technology for, lemme see... almost two decades since Dinosaurs first aired in 1991. Waldo puppetry has definitely evolved since then, getting smaller in mechanics and faster in response time. And the performance with Mickey is very similar to the digital puppetry of Stitch Encounter and Turtle Talk, which has been around for years.

    Why oh why did Disney wait so long to incorporate this into the "rubber head" characters? Bloody well about time!
