Its not gonna be a normal thing yet, i don't think. Could be a while before he is back

I suppose this also will mean the end soon to situations where Mickey makes an appearance at an important event of some sort on stage, but doesn't say anything. Those always seemed a bit odd to me, although I understand why it costs (used to cost?) a lot more to have Mickey talk than just make an appearance in person.

Waldo puppetry has definitely evolved since then, getting smaller in mechanics and faster in response time. And the performance with Mickey is very similar to the digital puppetry of Stitch Encounter and Turtle Talk, which has been around for years. Why oh why did Disney wait so long to incorporate this into the "rubber head" characters? Bloody well about time!
