Well, I FINALLY did as it surprisingly showed up on my tv screen last night here in Australia at one in the morning lol. My review:

Well, overall it was pretty bad, especially the beginning. It was obvious it was just an average Tv movie as the plot was a silly retread of a voodoo curse, the ghosts in limbo, etc. The special effects were bad and cheap and the acting wasnt much better. What happened to your career Steve Guttenberg??

It was interesting to see a young pre-Spiderman Kirsten Dunst there and she was okay, but the story was just silly. I think I only kept watching, besides the fact nothing else was on, because I'm a Disney fan and I like seeing the scenes of TOT itself, but I think I was watching more for that then anything.

The ending scenes were actually pretty suspenseful though and liked seeing the elevators plunge like the ride :). The ending was as syrupy and happy as any Disney film could get and almost makes 'Bambi' looks like Schindler List.

I think what I regret most with this film is that they decided not to include any of the plot with the first words of the rides title which is THE TWILIGHT ZONE!! I'm guessing for every copyright and legal reason imaginable, they couldnt base the film in the actual TZ setting like the ride itself, but it couldve made it a little more darker and interesting and see a TZ story set up in the film. Oh well.

The one interesting tidbit I learned about the film from IMDB is that this was Disney's first test of trying to change Disney attractions into movies which of course happened with Pirates being huge, so I guess they kept it simple on purpose until they knew how sucessful this foray would be.

I think now it would be cool if they did a remake of this with more of an edge, the TZ theme and a bigger budget. But hopefully not make it into The Haunted Mansion, part 2 ;).

    Anyone elses thoughts on it?

Anyway, I will say for what it was it was fine, but would I want to watch it again? Ahhh, not really ;).

But yeah, knowing it was shot in the actual ride is what makes it cool. I wish I knew EXACTLY what scenes were shot there although I'm guessing its mainly just the lobby scenes and some of the outside areas.
