Anyway, went on Pirates, because i wasn't sure i would get to ride again before the proposed changes. i must say yeah to any new settings for this ride. i was completely bored by the current state. i know it is sacreligous, but Pirates to me is one of the most boring Disney attractions. i am not sure why i feel this way. It just seems really stale to me. i almost fell asleep after the drops. I am wierd, I know but heck Small World holds more interest for me. I went on Small World three times and enjoyed it three times. Went on Pirates once. i hope they make some changes to Pirates to freshen this ride up. Ok let all the tomatoes get thrown at me now!

However, I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with. I believe in change. Better or worse. If it's worse, I trust Disney to fix it sometime. But I think Walt really meant for things to change and evolve.

I'm going at the end of July and can't wait to see all the changes that have occurred since I was there 3 years ago! Yikes - it's been way to long since I've been in my happy place.

That said, I always enjoy seeing upgrades and changes made over the years, that make the ride seem fresh.

The cannon effects, the addition of more men in the fortress.

The shadow effect with the guys sword fighting. All cool.

Even some of the dumb PC things, with the guys chasing food.

And that weird horse from 'The World of Motion' --

Not my choice, but still fun to see.

Even that drunken 'Bill' character, who says 'Here kitty, kitty, kitty' -- he's sort of a 'new' addtion, in that, he was not there when I first went on the ride back in 1969.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the 'movie' changes --

    It's fun.

BTW ... Johnny Depp AND Orlando Bloom, now that would be my dream companions to ride with!

Having these guys redo the ride is like having Thomas Kinkade repaint a Monet!

And I agree with the above on Orlando and Johnny, just set me inbetween them both and who cares what the ride turns out to be like!

Constant change is one of the points Walt wanted to make just as soon as he opened the park. Should DL hold onto Walt's original vision or should it remain as Walt built it? That seems to be the argument here.

I know know why Pirates just doesn't hold interest for me. It seems more duty that wanting to go on it. Don't get me wrong there are some cool effects and the smell is very magical.. It is hard to explain, i just can't get into Pirates. I am hoping some of the new changes will enhance the experience.

Will be interesting to see the refurb-outcome...the water screen/fog sounds very neat!
