Three of the statues/figures/reliefs look Atlantean in nature, but the other six or so look more Egyptian.

From the description in the HKDL press release:

"Within Mystic Point lies a beautiful garden full of relics and mythological figures, where guests discover a hidden world of illusions and mysteries that trick the eye."

I suspect these figures will have "interactive" capabilities, for lack of a better term, such as the Madame Leota tomb in the queue at MK's Mansion.

I might be mistaken, but... isn't there some kind of "interactive" garden at the TDS Tower of Terror? Similar deal with the statues and figures being acquired by an adventurer (Hightower), with interesting stories, mystical properties, etc?

The attraction itself takes its cue from TDS' Tower of Terror - the show building facade is a hodgepodge of architectural styles and the storyline will share a similar vein.

There are no interactive features in the TDS garden. Those in Mystic Point will be closer in kin to DL's Pirates' Lair. They will be fun additions to the land.
