What else are you going to do?!? Read a book? Go for a bike ride? Take a stroll on the beach? Browse the mall? Play Scrabble? Don't be silly!

Get yourself to Disneyland tonight, just to stop by for an hour or two! ;-)

Rather than the AP's to blame, shouldn't we be blaming DCA for adding days to people's trips that they aren't spending there?

I've also been unemployed for a while and trust me, I've managed to find plenty of ways to entertain myself that don't involve Disneyland.

By the way, next time try posting when you have something meaningful to say and don't just feel like being sarcastic and jerky. Thanks.

    And who's fault is THAT?

Don't blame the patrons for showing up, they have every right to. ;)

The crowds do make DL rather unenjoyable at times. Especially when it turns into a river of humanity--where you become part of the mass moving along and are unable to stop and enjoy the sights.
I wasn't fond of the old ticket book days, but I think they should return to that system. Only this time, they could issue ID cards with a bar code on it where you can just scan it before entering a ride. You could wear it on a lanyard around your neck! Just think of the lanyard sales! It might cut down on the wait times for rides as well.
Just ol' Marlin over here thinkin'...

As a deluxe AP, it's easy for me to say, but these SoCal APs seem to have hastened the demise of the experience. No blame on the buyers, of course. They're just doing what Disney wanted 'em to!

Which is why we have not been back in over a year. Why should I blow 3-4K for a SoCal vacation if DL is going to be packed to the rafters every day?

You know that puts Disney in a bind. They want the local business and even if locals don't spend much money at the park everytime they go, they DO spend some money at the park and DT over time. Certainly they spend more in a year than the average family who visits from out of town once a year.
Still, you would think the executives would have to go back at some point and look at the QUALITY of DL. You know Walt is spinning in his grave right now.

Disneyland wasn't meant to be some community center where you just "dropped in" every couple weeks to ride a ride or see the fireworks and then leave. That wasn't how the park or its infrastructure was designed in the 1950's, or the 1990's.

AP's who are dropping it at random for a few hours after work on Friday are using the park the wrong way from how it was designed to be used. In short, we are doing it wrong.

I know I am visiting less frequently because of the huge crowds milling around, hanging out, and then going home after a few hours.

Disneyland just wasn't designed for this kind of casual yet overwhelming demand. Westsider speaks the truth on this one I'm afraid.

Nobody's doing anything "wrong", an annual pass entitled people to show up as often as they want, for as little time as they wish.

If management doesn't like it, they should change the AP rules (though I'm at a loss to figure out how they could enforce a "minimum required stay"...perhaps access should be denied at certain hours or something).

And if customers don't like it, they have two choices. Complain to Disney and hope Disney listens, or vote with their wallets and refuse to show up til something changes.

Don't blame the passholders for Disney's policies.
