I think the last day the crane was there was Sunday, Dec. 17. Thank heavens.

The castle is fresh now & it looks good with the shinny blue colors & pink. But I must say, I do miss the 50 anniversary make-over the castle once had with all those good looking Disney classical statues up above & while you look at it those same statues were shinning back at you with the sun hit it. That was a nice experience for me. And people for some reason like to complain & make a big fuss about a crane in back of the castle because while there at the Magic Kingdom the castle is beeing painted. Well I was in the Magic Kingdom last month & the crane was there not a big deal but in my family picture infront of the castle you do see the crane & that kinda messed up my photo.

Yes, maintenance needs to be done and a new paint job is most wonderful.

Now for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary you'll never know things change & so will the park maybe by then Stitch will be out & Buzz too because of the Midway Mania.

I hear you, but it is better than scaffolding!

And that would probably clunk up the castle for an even longer time, even though it needed to be done. To be fair the crane generally came down each day at 2pm, leaving the castle looking good for the rest of the day. It was mostly just the early morning image at 9am rope drop until 2pm that was the downer. And then there's SpaceShip Earth. The designers there were thinking right. Such a huge, hard to work on structure is covered with metal/plastic shiny triangular panels. They simply don't wear or change colors, and are largely self cleaning. Can you imagine the hastle of a crane or scaffolding hanging around SpaceShip Earth for many months?

Well, enough photos get "messed up" and people would naturally complain. I don't blame them. When we were there a few weeks ago finding an angle that didn't have the crane wasn't easy.
