It was also interesting to read about your meal at PCH Grill. I used to like the restaurant a lot, but since the opening of all the new places at DCA and DTD, I've only been back once, and the food wasn't particularly good that time, and the service was atrocious. It sounds like it's gotten better again, so maybe I'll give it another try.

    Great article!

This trip report was just plain refreshing. I could go on and on, but I think I would rather just go read it again....

I had a location list from a fan website to help me and followed a tip about the chocolate coin treasure chest being a good holder for the squished coins. Almost got them all (one machine was getting repaired that day.)

Can you give a little more detail on the new menu at PCH Grill? Is it now primarily a Mexican restaurant or do they have other varieties of food as well?

Has the service improved at all that you noticed? I've always liked the food there, but the service has often been a major problem.

It has several appetizers like the guacamole and chips, spinach and artichoke dip, calamari rings. They also a basic house salad now, previously it had some of the more unique lettuces and such.

Sandwiches items include a meatball sandwich, fish tacos, and hamburger (no more turkey or veggie burgers, as well as a chicken sandwich.

They have a couple of pizzas including a BBQ Chicken one.

The menus are now in a leather like material similar to Hook's Pointe. No more maps that you can take home although the map is still visible as the background in the menu inserts.

The music is 50's style which is fine by me. =) They cycled through some really awful music there including a choir's cover of Beatles tunes. Imagine Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds sung by operatic sopranos. Now they play Runaway which is one of my faves. In fact during my trip to Graceland I discovered that Elvis actually performed it. It was during his latter years and he screws up the lyrics but it was nifty find...but I'm digressing.

The menu items have clever California names with silly descriptions. I wish I could quote some of them.

I forgot to mention their nifty desserts. The apple pie is shaped like a fish and arrives on a blue wave of sculpted sugar. Definite points for presentation. I didn't have any...I was too busy devouring my chocolate dessert. Don't recall its name but it sure was tasty.

Thanks for the nice comments about Forever Magical.

I will tell you that my food arrived hot and tasty. I had had some issues with the kitchen preparation over the past few months. Food overcooked and such. But I don't have any complaints about that from our recent visits. We've been about 3 or 4 times in the past few weeks.
