Welcome to the jungle, Dwayne Johnson. The actor has closed a deal to star in Jungle Cruise, Disney’s live-action adaptation of its iconic theme park ride. Johnson has found room in his busy schedule, slotting the movie in for a spring 2018 start of production. Dwayne Johnson's 'Jungle Cruise' Is a Go at Disney (Exclusive)
I don't like the idea of a Jungle Cruise movie. It has to be an adventure movie and Disney already got Indiana Jones 5 for 2019. They could easily move forward with the other adventure franchise called National Treasure instead of trying to create a new one, but I guess too much time has passed to revive that franchise.
Uh, wasn't Jungle Cruise inspired by a non-Disney film The African Queen, and to a lesser extent, by one or more of Walt's True-Life Adventure films? Why do they always have to make new movies based on existing attractions, often imposing an entirely new backstory on the attraction in the process?
