Sometimes the Cast Members at the various WDW parks aren't really acting. It's difficult to explain what I'm trying to say, so let me put it to you this way:

2 years ago, me, my mom and my brother were at the 50s Prime Time Cafe. Your waiters and waitresses there are supposed to be acting like family members on a 50s sitcom. Our waitress wasn't acting at all. She said that since things were slow, they didn't act as much. It *was* rather empty that day, but I felt a little disappointed.

Has anybody ever encountered anything like this at the Disney parks?

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff

I haven't been there in years, but I remember it being packed when I was there and it was just amazing. I don't think I've really had anything that is too out of character, or if I did, it just didn't stick with me.

Gotta say Wendy in MK last June-July was super fantastic, especially with my bashful 3 year old grandson. Also the 3 Power Rangers we had time for at MGM. I think most CMs seem to be doing a very good job. My 5 year old granddaughter got a big red kiss from Snow White just before we lined up for HM. We weren't even up to the haunted hearse, and CM John came over to ask her about the kiss. Said Snow never gave him a kiss like that, and so my granddaughter must be really special, he had us cut in line right up to the door. Nice man, but I bet the people who were stuck standing in the line didn't feel as we did.

Yikes! That's just...That can't be described. I feel sorry for your family on that one. Wow, I don't think anybody can top that one.

Well, I feel more confident about this year...I just hope that my confidence isn't broken. 2 1/2 weeks to go!

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff

Especially since that won't happen ever again now that the live person has been replaced with a pre-recorded spiel. :(

I had some 'splainin' to do on that one and I was P.O.'ed.

But did you take the time to complaint to management? Probably NOT. So why get P.O.'ed if you do not express your displeasure with those in charge of effecting change? If I have had Pocahontas tell me she lives in some midwestern state when off duty, I would have gone straight to Guest Relation and log a big fat complaint against her for "BAD SHOW".

At the Florida State Fair they have a historical section called Cracker Country, with old houses, a one-room school, etc. Everyone that works there is in period dress, so I assume they are supposed to be at least somewhat "in character." When I visited last week there was a bluegrass group in the middle of the area playing the song Man of Constant Sorrow, an old standard which most people now know from the movie O Brother Where Art Thou. After the song the singer said, "Well, that was my best George Clooney impression."
