As I think about the whole DTD thing and some of WDW in general, I find it interesting how decisions of the past have long term effects in the present. Build a race track in the MK parking, then when it doesnt work out there is this big structure out there only used by the Richard Petty Driving experience. Or how by doing a big expansion of DTD to include PI and the West Side would cause problems in the present when retailers are closing due a poor economy and money to build new stores and restaurants are hard to come by. Who wouls have thought a decade ago that Disney would have trouble filling retail space. I think about Walt saying that the one thing the WDW had was the beauty of size, but sometimes I think that size has been a hinderance to WDW at times.

Taking advantage of the benefit of size often should have meant not touching it!

I find it amusing that Garcia is reporting that Hyperion Wharf is dead as if Disney announced it. They didn't. They just ignored it when announcing the bowling ally for DD by Thomas Smith on The Disney Parks Blog. He never used the words 'Hyperion Wharf' once, yet continually used the words 'Pleasure Island'. Again, this is what happens when only one voice is heard and it is never really questioned. PR spin should never be confused with news. ~GFC~
