It is ten months and what were you expecting? An all-new Autopia in a city where very few people actually drive does sound cool to me. There are also some other C/D ticket attractions due on line in 2006 which will add to the park.

Next time you are at TDL take a trip to watch the lines at their version and see the happy faces on exiting. It isn't cutting edge but it is a classic Disney attraction.

I find it so bizarre that people get on their high horses about the classic Walt attractions but they are selective about them.

Sorry X, nothing personal, I just have issues with this whole expectation gap with HKDL. The vast majority of the people visiting the park can hardly even recognise most of the characters so they have little or no concept of what a DL is. I can't wait to see them shape their own Disneyland experience.

Maybe, but I think they expect more than just Autopia from a park called Disneyland...

I wonder how many of them will ask "Where's Snoopy?" :)

I am a sucker for themed areas and I am sure I will be happy for HKDL once it's done and open. I will reserve judgement on anything else until I get to experience it. But I do like what I have seen of HKDL so far. I would hope many will be just as pleasantly surprised as I was last weekend.

It didn't have your name in the thread title or any references Donna Summer, so you probably didn't notice.

It is kinda two-fold. On the one hand you have a community that is only just in the past year or so getting to grips with the characters (the synergy with DCP has been incredible out here which I will explain later) and also the concept of a Disneyland.

To put the Disneyland thing in context when they were doing food surveys HKDLR were amazed that guests would not want Western food in a US-style theme park. Hence there is only 1 location selling burgers. Even the French and Japanese are more willing to accept that type of food than in HK.

This type of attraction is always crowded, as is Dumbo and Peter Pan. If these rides aren't classic Disneyland, what is?
