First of all, are we insane? Is it going to be so crowded that week that we'll be miserable?

I've been to WDW four times in the last six years, always with show choirs touring down there, always in August (miserably hot), always staying at the All Star resorts. He hasn't been since he was 8 and has never been to any park but the MK. We are planning to get the Magic Your Way package with the Hopper option and the Water Park addon because he's a water park nut and, probably the dining option.

We were thinking of staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We can't afford the deluxe resorts and I'm afraid the value ones will be overrun and noisy. Am I picking the right moderate resort? We don't have children yet and the POR descriptions make it sound a little quieter than the other moderates. Am I reading that wrong?

We're planning to book this week through AAA unless you all tell me that we are utterly mad to think of going that week. Any advice is much appreciated.

I enjoy the parks more when there are a lot of people (not too many) because it makes them come alive and feel vibrant. When the parks are almost empty I get the same feeling I get when I walk into a store that is going out of business.
