Why not go with the charm of the country bears, rather than the ABC after-school special formula of a young bear trying to find where he fits in? Let's see how the bears started out, then maybe make their way to the Grand Ol' Opry. Or something. Anything. Please? I don't think the Country Bears attraction really closed. I think the bears saw the trailer for this movie and escaped into the wilderness. Here's how Disney can save face and make some actual money with this movie: have silhouettes of Disney villians "watching" the movie and commenting about how dumb it is ala Mystery Science Theater 3000. Any Disney exec reading this is etitled to use that idea without charge!

If it doesn't go well in the theaters, it'll sell on home video. Kids will love it - it'll be like their own "Blues Brothers."

Maybe it's the idea of seeing the Country Bears face off against Christopher Walken... it sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit, but how many times in life are you going to get to see THAT? It looks silly, but maybe we'll get lucky. They spent some serious money on this movie, so the quality will be there... but the story - it's kind of like ALMOST FAMOUS meets, well, Critter Country...

With all the money I spent on therapy after that, I'm not going down that path again!! : )
