Pulled into town on Sunday night and made our way to the pool at paradise pier to watch the fireworks. Our passes were no good on Sunday, so we figured this was the next best thing. Unfortunately the fireworks were canceled that night, so we wandered around Downtown Disney for a while, had a pretzel, then made our way back to our motel.
Day 1:Monday morning, we were bright and early and had some pictures with Goofy & Mickey then headed straight for Fantasyland. DH went to get faspasses for Splash while grandpa & I took DD3 and DD5 on Dumbo, teacups, Alice & Storybook in less than 15 minutes. There were barely any lines. We walked right on ALL FOUR of those rides! Then DH came back and we got in line for the Matterhorn. I use the word "line" loosely, as there were only 4 people ahead of us! We had lunch at the Hungry Bear and grandpa said, "This is the best part of Disneyland!" Me, being a food snob, could not agree, so I chose not to say anything. The whole day was navigated by short lines and by 2:00 we had done everything we wanted to do, so we decided to go to DCA. The lines seemed a little longer there, but still they were very short. The longest line was for the new Toy Story ride which was a 20 minute wait. And well worth it! We had so much fun on that ride. On our way back to Disneyland, we split up so I could take DD3 on Tower of Terror and Gramps, DH and DD5 went on Soarin' (again). Back at DL, we hopped on the train and got off in New Orleans Square. That was a funny train ride because there were some ladies sitting nearby that said they were going to call CPS when they heard that the 3-year-old went on Tower of Terror. hahaha We went on BTMRR (which had been closed earlier in the day) a bunch of times, had dinner at Rancho del Zocalo. Rode some more rides and then lined up to watch Fantasmic! The secret spot behind the light tower is not a secret anymore, so we didn't have the best view and my feet were tired. I held my 5 year old in my arms and on my shoulders through the whole thing so my body hurt by the end of it. Then we followed the crowd to the shuttle and made our way slowly back the motel.
Day 2: Went to DCA 1st at 9:30 so we could ride Soarin before the park opened. Then we went straight to Toy Story and rode that twice, went on the roller coaster while gramps took the kids on the merry-go-round. We had lunch at pizza-oom-mow-mow (Disgusting!) Then the kids went on the jumpin jellyfish and we went to GRR, Redwood Creek Challenge, Soarin (again). Went to DL around 1:00 and rode quite a few rides... I'm pretty sure we did Star Tours 4 times on this trip! Then we went to Blue Bayou to see about getting a table for dessert. They seated us immediately, something DH and I were surprised by. We usually always make reservations a month in advance, but this was a low-budget trip so we didn't plan on the Blue Bayou. But it was Grandpa's treat, so we went. For the 5 of us we ordered two creme brulee trios and two cookie boats. It was way too much food. The girls are still playing with the edible treasure boxes that come with the trio. DH and I made a mental note: only order the cookie boat from now on. The creme brulee trio is pretty gross. Only the vanilla is decent, the other two were chunky, and they put all that fake whipped cream on everything. YUCK! But the ambience is nice and the coffee wasn't terrible. We left the park at 7:30 to beat the crowd and had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We had a good laugh when the waitress brought me my glass of Zinfandel and I said, "um, no... this should be pink, not red!" It was hard for me to say with a straight face, but then we all laughed. The waitress had a worried look on her face til she realized I was joking.
Day 3: We only had an hour and a half in the park because we had to get back on the road. But it was AMAZING! Dumbo was flying with empty elephants and on BTMRR we were able to ride repeatedly without even getting off! DD3 and DD% had their picture taken with Mickey & Minnie together, that was a special treat. We had such a good time and our last stop was Dole Whips. Yum!

And I can't wait until you come down to Disneyland again, I printed out your reports for people in my office. They needed some humor in their oh to dreary cubicles ;) By the way, how are the halfwits?
