I'm not sure if it was changed before or after August (I'm fairly certain it was before, but just in case), but they changed the 'villains' part to remove Hellfire/Night on Bald Mountain and replaced it with an extended POTC segment. Other than that, it's the same show that's been running since it opened.

FWIW, I really liked the old segment, particularly the very clever adaptation of the music. Then again, I AM a music geek... I like POTC, but couldn't we have a few more other things, rather than extra time on it?

Then again, they really haven't done any experiments to see how well Hunchback and Bald Mountain merchandise would sell, so I guess it's all just speculation.

I'm also a really big fan of the original music for that segment. In addition to including great music that Disney rarely uses (Hellfire), the arrangement was really well done. The POTC segment is just more of the same stuff, and is very dialogue-heavy. I feel like the extended dialogue segments of the show (Dory & Marlin, Buzz & Woody, Heimlich, POTC intro) show are its weakest parts, and really stop any potential show-wide dynamic changes. But they don't ask me, so I don't get to give them my opinion. : /

Yeah, the longer bits of dialog just bog the show down, in my opinion. Then again, I've been told that "younger audiences" can hardly stand anything that doesn't have lyrics and /or dialog, so there ya go...
