The Ohio State Marching Band will perform in Town Square at the Main Street Train Station beginning at 1:30 p.m. The University of Oregon Marching Band will perform at the Castle Forecourt beginning at 6 p.m.</p>

    I was sitting in the Rose Bowl to see Ohio State beat ASU many years back in the "Rose Bowl" game. It was a good and close game, too. Having grown up nearby and watched pro soccer matches and a lower-profile college football game there, it was cool to finally be at the actual "Bowl" game. It also helped that OSU won, as my dad is an alumnus, and I was there with him.

    We were sitting where the two different sets of fans meshed with each other... fights almost broke out, since there were a couple of controversial calls (one went in OSU's favor, the other went in ASU's favor).

    When working at the park, we always expected the bands during this week - a week that was already the busiest all year.

    Picture this: they guy that invented the Aerobie (frisbee that goes really far) introduced it at a press conference at the Rose Bowl. He stood at midfield and threw doezens of the toys right up, out and over the the bowl.

    Good publicity move.

    I hope they enjoy their day in the park. I've done it the last 3 years, and it's definately a highlight of the week, since you have some time to just relax and have fun. Play for 30 minutes, and then get to have fun in the park for 6 or so hours. Not a bad deal, considering all the other work they have to do to get ready for the game and parade.

    I turned to look at the band, on the train station steps and platform. Sousaphones!!! I counted thirty of them making that wonderful note.
