I'm sad that we missed the new Jungle Cruise by a few weeks. I'm not sure how I would feel about having music along the ride, since it would feel more cinematic and less like an excursion, but the other changes sound neat

I'm surprised they're putting the Stitch Encounter in the EO space. It was an enjoyable enough show when I saw it at HKDL, but it was in a small off-to-the-side venue. Putting it in such a big space (presumably with multiple theaters) along the main thoroughfare makes it seem like it's a much more high-profile attraction. But I guess that's part of the problem they've always had with the theater in that spot

This is why I see ROE at EPCOT and I want to cry. Such an outdated mess of a show and going for an undeserving 15 years. How ripped are WDW guests in regards to entertainment.. Suckers!!!

And the pictures of the TDS 13th merchandise are telling.. today is WDW's 43rd anniversary and what are they selling to commemorate the day? NOTHING. Kudos too to HKDL for doing a good job with their yearly anniversary merchandise as well. That's what makes a visit to the Disney parks memorable. Not Starbucks bars.

This TDR report is again proof of where the real deal IS in regards to Disney quality. All of that Halloween fun stuff at regular park prices as opposed to after hour extra ticket parties... again.. how ripped off can we be at WDW and some of the other parks?

When it opened, ROE was a great show. It's just been running for so long and with so few updates (most of which end up being cuts, rather than actual improvements) that it's looking really shabby. Running a show every single night for 15 years will do that. I think it still has the potential to be a great show, but it will need some serious work to get that done

    >>Stitch is very popular in Japan. Not sure if the Stitch Encounter show will have legs to go the long way.. but I am glad Captain EO is good for good.<<

I agree that Stitch is popular (I was shocked to see the Tiki Room completely full for our show, on a day with moderate crowds), but this just doesn't seem like a high-profile attraction. Perhaps his popularity will drive attendance, but it just seems like the right attraction in the wrong place for me

I'm also glad to see EO gone for good. Hopefully he won't be returning to DL, since they've done a couple movie previews there, and I hope they can figure out something to do longterm, as well as something for Epcot and DLP

Just one example, I watched Mickey's Philamagic last night and sitting in the back row, I saw in theater lighting effects that I don't think I've ever seen in Florida. Bravo Tokyo Disney!

You see, Tokyo Disneyland excells in the not so obvious items that the mk tragically misses all the time? Such as maintenance, cleanliness, staffing levels and live entertainment quality. Thighs the Americans, brazilians, and British take a face value and accept it. Not in Japan. That's why the mk will never be as good as Tokyo Disneyland.

Btw. Pardon the typos as I'm typing from my cellphone and without my glasses. I'm at the mk typing this celebrating the 43rd today. How sad I think I'm the only who knows what day this is. CMs are not even wearing a 43rd anniversary button as in previous years. Sad indeed. And no
Merchandise anywhere. Not even a freaking pin. Sad sad sad.

It looks fine, but certainly isn't earth shattering. It reminds me of a Mediterranean Harbor equivalent of the types of walls that were in DCA during its redo, or what's in DAK now for the Rivers of Light stuff. It's a big step up from those terrible Dream Builders plaques on every construction wall in WDW, but it's still just a wall.

Anybody know how far around the walls go? I would assume the construction work is visible from elsewhere in the Harbor, though it might take a really good lens to see anything of any value

I'd have to agree. My cousin was born the day Epcot opened, so she's turning 32 today. I texted her, but I'm not even sure it's important enough to justify a call. And she's family, unlike a certain theme park in Florida

IMHO the music works very well as BGM. The only time it really takes you out of the moment is when The Circle of Life is used during the lion kill scene. I wouldn't have used that at all but it does tie into the tongue-in-cheek narration at that point.

The temple scene isn't on the same level as the Jade Monkey King in Mystic Manor but it is very effective indeed. Something very different for TDL.

Queues have been insane all month. Well over an hour.

Turtle Talk is very popular at TDS so it makes sense to see another LCP show at TDL. That space is landlocked and really can only be used for a show. OLC looked at Laugh Floor Comedy Club and Great Escape and opted for Stitch Encounter. It will be popular.

I'm surprised that you were in a packed Tiki Room show - the attraction has been dying on its feet for a while now. It doesn't resonate with guests especially now that Stitch's popularity is waning.

I love the 13th merchandise. It's a great souvenir and reminder of our visit in 2014. It's special to us.

So I agree with TDLFAN about the 43rd.

It's because of "fans" like you why WDW doesn't try hard and gives us bare minimum. But for some of us who are avid Disney anniversary merchandise collectors, yes any anniversary stuff they could sell it's important and the more obscure the better. But many of you wouldn't understand that because you're what I call "basic mentality" and you're content with nothing but the basic stuff you can do there. For a place that claims how magical it is and how many so called magical memories are made, they certainly don't deliver. Unless you're a Disney princess meet and greet freak.

I'm glad you found my typo a source of ridicule but on a serious note, you don't want me to comment of the size of thighs of most people who work and visit WDW. That was meant to say things. Not thighs.

Well, I care even less about Disney anniversary merchandise collectors than I care about 43rd anniversaries. I guess that puts me in the sub-basic level of Disney fandom. I hope I don't lose any sleep tonight.

It sells in Tokyo (and Hong Kong for that matter) so I do understand the commercial reality. However when the park does nada for the day itself I don't see much need to commemorate the milestone.

I've never quite understood what happened to the collector mentality in the US. DLR shifted more merchandise for the 40th than in its history both before and after. It seems that the market for high-end collectibles has died and it seemed to happen very suddenly. Whether it is the availability of Disney merch in every store in the country or a lack of disposable income I've never been able to get a clear answer.

Very cool! Do they still do meet & greets in the American Waterfront? I was really surprised to see them there in 2006, but didn't see them this summer (but we didn't spend a ton of time over there)

I wonder if it had to do with the theme of the event, rather than any particular market event. I can still picture that nifty logo with Mickey dressed as Indiana Jones with the whip, but I have a tough time recalling what the 50th logo was (50 inside Mickey a symbol?). As a relatively average guest at the time, the event resonated a lot more with me than other anniversaries
