I guess I'm cranky, but this just seems to be unnecessary when there are so many necessary things needing attention.

Plus, the sign pictured looks pretty ugly.

Rather, guests will be given cards that will signal or provide QR and/or RFID codes in some way. The card codes will randomly signal a new game and will carry the code necessary for you to successfully carry the game through to completion. It is similar to the Mickey Midship Detective Agency aboard the Disney Dream, where using your badge you move around the ship showing a 2-D bar-code that would take you through the particular sequence of that game. This way guests will not have to carry or return a phone or electronic piece of equipment."

Don't you need some kind of electronic gadget to "read" the QR code? What exactly are you "showing" your QR code to, in order to play?

Can someone please explain this in more detail?

Why would I play this game instead of riding ______ or going to the meet and greet (obviously the real reason why I traveled here from Minnesota)? Do you have to play the game all at once? Does that mean you're walking all around the park without queuing up for attractions?

I believe what they are trying to say is that Disney will not need to provide a cell phone or piece of electronics. I think you will use your personal smart phone. You know the same one they will be spamming with dinner suggestions and PhotoPass purchase options.

They don't affect me one way or the other as I don't have kids and I don't like to color (as you'd assume, I am a Spirit that does not like staying inside the lines!)

What gets to me about these things (or hula hoops with CMs on Main Street) is there's this tacit underlying point that 'our parks are not exciting enough for you or your kids so we are providing this experience you could get at home to add to it' ... and I am sure you can pull up a trip report where someone who spent 10 nights at the BW with 12 family members and never left property will say 'the most MAGICal moment of our $17,000 trip was when Phillip (the CM, not my fave fan here) sat down with the twins and Cory and colored a Nemo and Dory picture at EPCOT!'

If you can't get enough stimulation at WDW (and I am not talking about getting picked up by a hot young 18-year-old CM who just moved to O-Town from the wilds of Maine and is luxuriating in his burgeoning homosexuality!) ;-) ... then I'd say Disney is striking out very badly and they either need totally new management with VISION or they need a new owner who will see they lack it and clean house!

And that's the crux. These exercises seem 'fun' (haven't we seen that justification enough) but they significantly signal what Disney rather distract guests with, what Disney would rather distract their own employees with in producing or fixing. At least better than those pesky attractions that cost a lot to operate, maintain, and oh yeah, that's right, staff.

I've heard that this was already partly paid for with KPSWA, so it's already done.

But yes, I do understand your point. This could have fixed up PPF.

They'll pay admission just for the chance to buy merch at the Emporium. Isn't that why you used to go to MK?
