Birthday's at Disneyland question?

    We took my dd to Disneyland for her birthday (we were there the 2 days after her birthday). I made 2 dining reservations and for both was asked if we were celebrating a birthday, the name and age of the birthday person.

    But what's the point of all this? They did absolutely nothing at either restaurant for my daughter, aside from the typical "Happy Birthday" everyone wearing a pin gets.
    I wasn't expecting anything at all, but why do they even ask if they aren't going to do anything?

    At Cafe Orleans we saw them take "birthday beneigts" to 2 different adults with birthday pins, but my daughter wasn't acknowledged in that way and that was one of the places which asked when we made reservations. Maybe they are just for adults? We bought beneigts anyway and shared them!

    It's really not a big deal, like I said, I just wonder why they ask. We have had plenty of nice things happen to us at DL over the years. :)

    I know and I agree that it's a problem. It's funny how many people I saw wearing birthday pins...but then again, October 5 is the most common birthday in the U.S., and the place was packed when we were there.
