They are supposed to be priced at around $19.99. I am very glad to hear this. I hope that some of the old movies and tv shows that I have yearned to see again will eventually become available. It's about time that Disney made some of their less in demand vintage movies and tv shows & movies available through manufacture on demand as Warner's and Universal have for awhile now.

    Now, Sunday Drive, that's different.

And I'd snatch up Bejewelled (I'm pretty sure that's what it was called; had the guy who plays Wedge Antilles and Dirk Benedict in it) as a gift for my Mom.

They are treating this so far the ext same way they did their "Disney Afternoon" releases, quietly release them and then when they fail, claim no one wants them. So we as fans need to pick up the slack! We can't let Disney sabotage this collection!

But who on earth is going to pay $20 for these? I did love the movie, but I saw it in its original incarnation for free. That's the nature of a tv movie. They're made for that purpose. To be free. 20 bucks is silly to ask, especially in an age where DVDs are dying.

If Disney were smart, they'd package the good tv movies (or the cheesy 80s ones we've convinced ourselves were good) and sell them that way. Unemployed people don't buy $20 Alyssa Milano tv movies.

And what's with the "Generations" title? Talk about generic.

There's so much in that vault that I'd be interested in blowing 20 bucks on. These three titles bear no resemblance to any of it.

Not gonna happen. You have to pay for the guy making the copies too. $10 wouldn't cover it. In fact, I doubt that $20 does either. At least not at the volume they'll be getting on these turkeys.

If there is any chance of future titles, maybe titles you may actually be interested in owning being released, these three titles NEED to be supported.

The titles the Warner Archive first released were not their best ones, but they were supported, and frankly, Warner put more faith in the system then Disney seems to,so as fans, we have to put up with more crap. But they get away with it becuase, we let let them. So, either this series as it exist is supported, or the whole thing dies off. I'm not interested it that.

As for getting specific titles, you could always join up with Open Vault Disney. Our fan campaign is trying to build up the numbers to get more of the Disney fan feed back to them of what titles we want first. Ultimately though, we want everything released. A Disney tv film you may think sucks the Disney fan down the street loves and visa versa. We as Disney fans are all in this together!

Sounds like your gripe isn't at how much they cost (I actually wouldn't be surprised if these titles go down a bit in time, "Goldrush" is already selling for two dollars less), so much as that one of the films is an Alyssa Milano film? Like I said, you may not like her, but someone else does. We are all in this together!

Get to. Snort. Lucky us. Fuggeddaboutit.

    >>A Disney tv film you may think sucks the Disney fan down the street loves and visa versa.<<

I dare you to find a Disney fan down my street, or in my county for that matter, that loves and/or wants a copy of Student Exchange. People who were actually in the movie don't count.

There are Disney titles that have no hope of making a profit at any price point, and we should not care whether they are released or not. And these are three of them.

    >>sounds like your gripe isn't at how much they cost ... so much as that one of the films is an Alyssa Milano film?<<

I don't know where you got that impression. I didn't know, or care, that one of the films was an Alyssa Milano film (and I still don't know which one, nor am I going to investigate). Post 4 mentioned her, and I went with it.

My gripe is that all three films were horrendous, inexplicable choices to start up a new service like this.

    >>We as Disney fans are all in this together!<<

Then we are very silly Disney fans.

No I will not be buying these and I am not in "this". I won't blindly support the release of any old garbage from the tape room, because all it'll do is encourage them to release *more* any old garbage from the tape room.

This is how it will go. No one will know about these films or act like you and think they are garbage. They won't sell very well. Disney will see that and decide that the whole DVD-on-Demand venture wasn't worth it after all. They'll close up shop and tons of un-released films and shows will rot in their vault, despite a lager fan base that may want to enjoy them.

By the way, on my Disney DVD Fan Campaign, I actually have read of a few people who enjoy "Amy." I've read elsewhere that that particular film does in fact have a fan base. Point being, that titles was in fact a good choice, and may in fact be the strongest release here.

I may have to agree with you on "Student Exchange" however. I'm happy they released it, I want every Disney movie released ultimately, but it may have a made a poor choice for a first wave of a fledgling collection. "Goldrush," I sort of remember seeing it first run and in fact have ordered it, so I look forward to re-visiting it again and save judgment on it till then.

I'd hope at least you'd join up with Open Vault Disney, and help fight for a release of titles you do want. Nothing in life is ever just handed to you, you have to work for it. If we want titles that individually we do want, we have to band together with other fans as a united group and work hard in making it so. E-mails, letters, phone calls, faxes and some paper petitions. If you know anything about the history of "Kim Possible, Season 4" or "Newsies" on DVD, you'll know it can be done, but it needs commitment, large numbers and work.

You don't like the three titles they started with here? Fine, help us change that. Do something about it instead of just complaining. We need everyone to help, the more people we get, the more likely we'll pull it off.

If you had a say on this, what un-released films would you like to see in the "Generations Collection?"

I think releasing these titles on a DVD-on-Demand collection was a great idea. I'd tend to agree, they would not sell as well in retail stores and demand may not be the highest. But, EVERY film has at least some kind of fan base, and it is wrong for a copyright holder to just sit on it's copyright forever and never let anyone ever enjoy the show.

Each of these films, as well as many others, had tons of people work hard to make them. Then, as they were debuted, had tons of people enjoy them. As many as say a "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. Probably not, but it doesn't matter. These films were enjoyed by someone, somewhere, and they should be able to enjoy them again and share them with their children. The artistic expressions of the directors and writers and actors should be available to enjoy for those that want it as well.

To not releases a show or a movie shows a lot of disrespect to everyone it does matter to. As well as it shows a lack of respect to the past and the movie making art form. The past must be preserved and then shared with the World.

Plus, there is the fact that in this age of shifting values, despite demand for family entertainment, a lot of what is being made today and called that is anything but. It is either too "edgy" for lack of a better term and not suitable for kids or it is too "Barney-like" if you will, and ends up tormenting the parents.

Disney films are the Gold Standered of Family Entertainment, especially their older films. The more films like this get releases, the more options parents have in the marketplace to enjoy quality family entertainment with their kids. That is always a good thing.

So, instead of complaining about these films, a way to support Disney's venture into DVD-on-demand is that if you really don't like the films, fine, don't buy them. But, do spread the word out far and wide to every Disney fan you know. You never know when you'll find someone who is VERY interested in one of these titles and would not know about it unless you told them it existed. But you are still supporting this collection, and with enough support, Disney is sure to release more titles. And you never know, the next wave may have a film you REALLY like.

No, that is NOT how it works!

"It works" when they release products that people want. WE'RE the customers, THEY'RE the entertainment company. End of story.

Remind me not to hire you as the negotiator in a hostage situation.

    >> Do something about it instead of just complaining.<<

Sometimes just complaining does a lot of good. Depends on where you do the complaining.

The people who chose these titles were either spectacularly incompetent, or (more likely) had some sort of agenda, perhaps wanting the series to fail, or were testing the waters to see if there are Disney fans insane enough to spend money on the poopiest poop in their library.

Either way, it needs to be brought to their superiors' attention. (Hi, superiors!) Either way, the LAST thing you should be doing is throwing money at Disney in some delusional hope that they MIGHT do better nest time.

LACK of revenue is what motivates companies to improve their offerings.

They know which titles they should be releasing. No need to rehash them here.

But, they never advertised them, so despite a large amount of fans, unless you were an internet nerd reading some Disney or DVD forum, or you just happen to run into them at the movie store, most folks didn't even know they had been released. Then they stopped release those titles, claiming there wasn't enough demand for them, which is utter nonsense.

Disney, unlike other studio's especially Warner Bros., seems to mistreat their back catalog. How many Disney cartoon shows or live action tv shows have had every episode released on DVD that are not current ABC shows? Now compare that to other studios, again, especially Warner. How many vintage titles films, theatrical or tv have Disney released? Again, compare to other studios. Disney is great at releasing their Animated Classics. They are great at releasing Pixar films and for the most part, even the theatrical films, although I say that tongue in cheek as there are some that still need releases and a lot more that have been released cropped. But when it comes to tv anything, they are pathetic.

Disney won't release products when it comes to their back catalog unless we as fans tell them what we want. You seem to take the mindset that they'll just magically start releasing what you want. Not happening on their own. Again, first off, just becuase you may not like these titles, doesn't means others are not happy to see them. And second, since when has Disney ever just started releasing older titles from their catalog and not screwed it up on their own? The Disney Treasures was a great start to an un-finished project.

Unless we the fans in full force tell them what we wont, they are going to keep giving us "Hanna Montana" and shows like that, and then not even do a good job releasing those shows on DVD or Blu Ray.

Anyway, this was fun, but clearly there isn't much more point in talking to you. Should you decide to actually help get titles that mean something to you released, please, look for Open Vault Disney on Facebook, Twitter and on the web. Every person who joins and helps makes it that much more likely we'll win the day.

But, if you'd rather just sit back and expect Disney to release these titles on their own, good luck with that. It's worked so well so far, hasn't it? Arguing on some internet forum isn't going to get anything done, now is it? Have a good day.

It looks like we can expect more to come. For true Disney fans, this is awesome that they are finally starting to open up their vault! Let's keep this momentum going and make sure more titles get released!

Oh. My. God. This awesomeness is so awesomely awesome that I am in awestruck awe. As a true Disney fan myself, this is truly a magical dream come true. Why just yesterday I was looking at my bookcase filled with Fuzzbucket memorabilia, wishing that Disney would finally give this masterpiece its due. It was one of Walt's greatest personal achievements. I wonder why it took 'em so long? All they had to do was look at the name of this website - fuzzbucketplace.com - to know that we Disney fans have been clamoring for this one forever. Man, I could go on like this all day .......

Sigh. I get the impression that these selections are being made by a 38-year-old female who has this idea that everybody, regardless of their age, watched and loved the same shows she and her small circle of BFFs did when she was a pre-teen.

Just an impression. I have no way of knowing if it's true.

Oh well .... I'm off to tell everyone to buy multiple copies of Deputy Dawg - the Complete Series, cause you just know they'll never release the original Betty Boop cartoons if I don't ......
