Of course, that book never materialized, but there was a slim soft-cover volume published as a cast ember exclusive thing, sold I think at the Glendale WDI store.

I have a copy of this book, but am looking for another. Does anyone have a surplus copy they'd be willing to part with?

I remember that the hardcover was announced, and I was very disappointed that it never materialized. The story I heard was that "they" (whoever "thay" are) were not satisfied with the way it turned out, or that they discovered something wrong with it, and either pulled it before it hit the shelves and destroyed the batch, or never ran the presses on it in the first place. Too bad... I would have bought it for sure.

Then they started combining DCA with Disneyland into books that covered the whole resort, including the hotels and Downtown Disney. That pretty much put the kibosh on a DCA exclusive book. Too bad.

A book about DCA or DCA itself, or both?

Otherwise, all things have been available only to Disney cast, with the exception of souvenir pictorial things.

This DCA book falls into that latter category, and is, at least in my thinking, more of a completist vloume to own instead of a truly essential one. I was but thirteen when DCA opened, and was almost at once put off by it. This little DCA book gives the inspirational background story to the Westfield Shopping Village-esque park--not in number of stores, but in pure soullessness. But, as we've seen, the park has converted and is slowly being given life.
