The finishes and furnishings are a good deal better than I've seen in any other DVC unit (I've not seen the DVC Contemporary). It is close to all the dining and entertainment options of Downtown Disney, and going to other resorts for dinner is far easier than at most DVCs' because of the proximity to the Downtown Disney buses. Plus, if you want to go off-site to get some reasonably priced food and drink you are just minutes away from the Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista.

If the long...LONG term plans for WDW every come into fruition then the location of Saratoga Springs will be even more improved. I've read that on many plans the area currently holding all of the warehouses and back of the house type operations may one day be the location for a future gated attraction.

Yes. On the expense scale, if groceries at Wal-Mart are a 1 and groceries from a DVC merchandise store are a 10, Goodings is an 8. Slightly cheaper than Disney, but hardly enough to pay for the gas to get there! I was thinking more of the restaurants.

And, when we point out the expired products we typically just get a shrug. Isn't that sort of an essential function of that business...to avoid selling expired food?

Not to mention you don't have to wait long to get a table even during free dining.

I love staying at SSR. I know a lot of people say it's out of the way, not highly themed, etc. but my family stayed many times in the original treehouses and fairway villas and 20-25 years ago it was still out of the way and themed even less. Not to mention all the pools were your basic rectangles. Somehow we managed to have a great time.

The one thing missing from SSR that made the Villas superior to all WDW resorts are the golf carts. As a kid I looked forward to getting behind the wheel of the golf carts as much as anything else WDW had to offer.

We're staying at WLV in May but I think the trip after that we'll go back to SSR maybe even stay in a treehouse.

I believe it's a product of profit margin..grocery stores typically operate on a 2% profit margin on food..very low when you think about it..and people are buying less because food has gone up so much in the past year

Any concept art? Because until then, Stormalong Bay is still gonna be the best on property.

It looks really good from the art. But I'll still take Stormalong Bay as my pool of choice.
