The off season is kind of neat, because you get to experience things that you normally don't get to experience when it is busy. I rode the Mark Twain at night. It was so wonderful. It is pure magic. When it is busy, you get to experience this because of fantasmic. Don't get me wrong, I love fantasmic, but i do miss those night voyages of the Twain. The other thing that is neat is the Main Street Vehicles run at night. This rarely happens, because often it just so busy and lots of people are in the Hub and MainStreet. But it is kind of magical to see the vehicles at night. It is has been a long, long time since i seen this. I remember before Disneyland became so heavy on nighttime shows that the vehicles at night was common occurence. Like i said don't get me wrong i love the parades, fireworks and Fantasmic. It is just kind of nice to see a slow Disneyland. What you guys think? Do you prefer the slow times or the busy times?

Though, we all know that Walt enjoyed taking the park in in seculsion and privacy. Both ways are equally great, though Disneyland to me only seems just right when it's crowded. Because, again, it's what Walt would have wanted!

I'll weigh in with one who prefers the slow times. As a local AP I would rather go at a time of a few sacrificed attractions in rehab and less shows, shorter hours, than busy times with longer hours, full schedule and more people. I too love Fantasmic, but also enjoy a night time cruise on the Mark Twain. I've been going after work on weekdays the last few weeks and it reminds me of tears past. I *used* to say prior to 2005 that fall season was my favorite time of year for Disneyland because I would go over there for breakfast on a weekday and the crowds were very light. I love walking around freely, talking to seasoned full time veteran CMs, relaxing on a seat reading a book [or E Ticket magazine] but this year during fall when I'd go on a weekday it would be packed.

Recently after holiday season it's now back to those slower times. We went last night and I noticed the Mark Twain at 6:45 had only a few people and the wheel house only had the captain, I thought to myself "dang we should ask for a ride up there" but then lil Thunder lost her purse which changed the whole rest of evening [BTW Thanks to the cool CM who found it and answered her phone and for getting me in after 8:00 to retrieve it]

It's times like these when the park is less full, evening comes earlier, and a bit nippy chill in the air that I like best. Starting the day at River Bell terrace with a light dew still on the ground, no line, ordering a steamboat then walking around the park. PLus... the attractions are walk ons. My girls rode Splash mountain 3 times in a row yesterday with virtually no wait as they ran around the exit back into the que. It reminded me of years ago when we literally went almost everyday and they played in the park like it was their backyard, CMs laughing with them calling them by name. [ah memories]

yeah, I'm with you dresswhites, give me these kinda days at DL any time.

I have too much fun talking to people but when there are too many people it no longer is fun.

I just gotta move down there soon! I want to work for Disney, but Disneyland definitely doesn't pay enough for me to live on..! I applied for a job at WDI..so we'll see what happens!
