Many of the Parade of Dreams floats were destroyed in the last couple of weeks, so no chance of that coming back.

Al reported that last winter. At the time, he predicted a new parade for the 55th anniversary. Perhaps plans have changed.

I never liked POD, but then I haven't liked a DL parade since 'Mulan'. I also liked the 'Hercules' parade and of course the 'Lion King' parade. I even liked 'Festival of Fools'. So I know the can do it - they can mount a parade/show that I enjoy. They just haven't done it in the last fifteen years.

I'd be shocked if they did. And hugely disappointed. It's way past time to stick a fork in that thing. They used to be able to come up with new parades and shows on a regular basis that would dazzle and amaze. They tried with POD and missed the mark - ending up with an overblown smarmy mishmash of cheap theatrics and maudlin sentiment.

'Celebrate' feels like a half effort - pointlessly frenetic and loud, and constantly trying to make the guests "be" the party. What happened to the days when you could just watch the show and be amused without being squirted with water, pelted with objects, doused with confetti, and be expected to jump and shout and dance?

It seems silly to pass up a golden opportunity to introduce a new parade like a major anniversary. So they're going to limp along with this 'stopgap' show and then what - come out with a new parade in 2011? 2012? Why wait? It's not like 'celebrate' is worth keeping around.

If they're not going to replace 'celebrate' with something more elaborate for the anniversary, at least give us another cheapskate parade just to keep it interesting. The costs would be about the same to do a different show with the same number of castmembers. It just takes some effort and imagination to create one. Like I said before, they USED to do this almost every year.

Me too, but considering that they just revamped the music and several of the floats I'm guessing that it will be around for a while. With WoC coming to DCA and no new parade at DL it seems one possibility might be to bring the MSEP back to DL.

I'm sure I've read that brining back MSEP to Disneyland in 2010 is pretty much a given, all tied up to the 55th anniversary.

They looked like they were having a good time and that made me feel the same way. DL entertainment is just so much better then what we have on the East coast, in my opinion...

But if you don't like parades, no body's going to dump you into a boiling cauldron if you want to just avoid them.
