About two years ago, the family dog was diagnosed with diabetes. She's a Viszla and should normally weigh between 40-45 pounds At the time she had weighed about 60 pounds, which was our fault, we fed her table scraps which is something you shouldn't do. Like a human with diabetes she had to go on a strict diet and receive shots twice a day. In the two years since she started she got down to the 45 pounds. She was looking skinny but healthy. Well the last few months she has been dropping weight, now she weighs about 30 pounds.

My parents have been taking her to the vet and while her blood sugar levels are getting to be normal, she keeps dropping weight. Here's the part that really sucks, she still acts like she always did. Always wants to play, always is getting into things, stealing a tupperware dish or two. But the food she eats is being burned up too quickly. The problem is we can't let her waste away and weigh 20 some pounds, but how can you put a dog to sleep if she is still so active.

Any types of prayers or good thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Whatever you guys did it worked, he told me the dog will be there when I visit. She's gained a little weight, all of her levels with her diabetes are heading back towards normal. The vet told my folks he honestly didn't think he would be having such a positive conversation. She's such a little fighter. I can't thank you guys more for your thoughts and prayers.
