So, this isn't meant to be a chance for me to make a "parting shot" at anyone, or me boo-hooing and taking my ball and leaving the court. Just wanted to say that I wish all of you World Events regulars all the best and look forward to seeing you in other sections of LP in the future. Thank you for the conversations that caused me to think and re-think my positions on various issues. Thanks to everyone who took my points of view into consideration from time to time as well. More than anything, some of these conversations underscored for me how reasonable people can reach different conclusions on various issues. It's a complex world out there. For what it's worth, I do not feel you contributed in any way to the lack of civility here. If anything, you provide (yes, I use the present tense) dissent without offense. I absolutely understand your "inner peace" thing though; sometimes reading and responding to WE gives me a lot more agita than enlightenment, and I've thought of pulling out myself more than once. But then I feel like Pacino in Godfather III... Nothin' but the best, 2oony, and I'll see you around elsewhere in LP, even if not here. For someone I've never met, I sure am fond of you.

This section can be frustrating but it is also a great place to debate with the opposite side in a somewhat respectful mannor. Try going to the YAHOO message boards if you want to see real hostility and lack of civil debate. Besides, once in a while you find yourself agreeing with your biggest foes on here and it takes you by surprise. Gadzuux the radical lib and I one day figured out we agree on Indian affairs here in America. LOL Heck, STPH even says things that make sense to me sometimes. ( But don't tell him I said that )
