If he completes rehab, the charges go away.

As much as I can sympathize with an addict, Rush has had ample opportunity to get over this thing. The authorities should throw the book at him, not cut deals.

Actually, truth be told, I do to. At least I want to, but when you listen to some of what he has said about other addicts, his lack of compassion is stunning. But regardless of what happens, I genuinely hope he kicks (or has kicked) his habit.

I know I'll see pigs fly first, but wouldn't it be nice if he gave up talk radio and dedicated his time to helping others with drug rehab and understanding the struggles of addiction?

Am I misunderstanding this? I thought he was arrested on charges stemming from stuff that happened a couple of years ago. I've heard nothing to lead me to believe that he's involved with drugs again.

BTW, what ever happend to the federal investigation about him regarding money laundering activities?

For the first time I agree with STPH. This arrest is just a formality.
Rush claimed to have already gone through rehab.

    Over. Done!!!

Roadtrip: You would have pity for Rush like any other person. He is not inhuman.

Rush deserves the penalty of his actions. If you listen to Rush, that is what he is saying. The penalty applies. He is taking responsibility for his actions.

However, I suppose Liberals think no penalty is better so never criticize and never get the penalty. Yeah, that works fine for anarchy.

The problem is that Rush is a rich white male, which makes his penalty different. Prescription drugs are simply the upper-classes version of crack. He was doing 30 oxycotin a day. That's no small amount.

If this had been a lower-class black woman, what are the chances she'd get the same penalty? Slim, to none. Even in the off-chance she did, where does she get 30,000?

Good life lesson to learn. Maybe his fellow conservatives in government will start owning up to their responsibility for the mistakes they have made in Iraq.

I would think a person with your background would understand how much we have accomplised in Iraq, the fact that things are going well there now, and the reality that no war goes perfect.

The thing about Rush that I like is his ability to have an opinion and always back it up. I re-read one of his books that is over 10 years old and everything he said then applies now.

Good luck having a liberal have their book be valid 6 months after they write it.

Conservatives are not perfect but they should strive for personal accountability and responsibility.

Rush LOST his hearing and was in extreme pain everyday. Apparently the medication he was getting from his doctor(s) was not working so he tried to find other sources.

Is that illegal? I don't know, maybe.

If so, you take the hit, admit your mistake and move on... which is exactly what Rush is doing.

One of the reasons Rush slams liberalism is because of it's hypocricy. You just KNOW that the "legalized marijuana guy" who tries to claim he should have pot to make himself feel better and kill the pain... will be all over Rush for what he did regarding his pain killers.

What baiting? YOu tell me a place where liberalism works in this world and then we can maybe take your huffy post serious.

Liberalism is a joke compared to conservatism on every level possible.

There is a reason Rush and Fox news continue to be number 1 and Air America, CNN and MSNBC continue to lose audience.

People who are smart can see when they are being told something that makes sense and has strong arguments, logic, and facts to back it up.

Liberal ideas have none of this and the proof is in the fact that everywhere it is tried people are miserable.

    LOL!

I am looking at my bookshelf right now. A great book that compiles all of the Federalist Papers is there -- still going strong 200 years after those liberal radicals drafted our Constitution!

Then there's the works of Dickens, Capote, Miller, Bradbury, Frost, and a host of other great writers who put into words the issues of the day that still ring strong decades later.

I've listened to Rush off and on for over 10 years. [Here in Merced he's on like, 5 radio stations at the same time at the same hour -- Conservative much Merced?]

Thing is, of all the adjectives I would use to describe Rush Limbaugh, positive and optimistic are not two of them.

The adjectives I would use are stubborn, pig-headed, mean-spirited and annoying.

Adjectives that conservatives lump together as 'truthful.'
