Some excerpts from the article: "Sixteen years ago, he wrote a paper for the United Methodist Church in which he likened the reproductive organs to male and female "pipe fittings" and argued that homosexuality is therefore biologically unnatural. "When the complementarity of the sexes is breached, injuries and diseases may occur," Holsinger wrote, citing studies showing higher rates of sexually transmitted diseases among gay men and the risk of injury from anal sex. As president of the church's national Judicial Council, Holsinger voted last year to support a pastor who blocked a gay man from joining a congregation. In 2004, he voted to expel a lesbian from the clergy." He also has been involved with "curing" homosexuality: http://www.medicalnewstoday.co m/medicalnews.php?newsid=73349 But, to be fair, from the CNN article: "People who have worked with him say he took tough stands as Kentucky's health secretary, advocating expanded stem cell research despite conservative opposition and supporting higher cigarette taxes in a big tobacco-producing state. Gov. Ernie Fletcher commended him for working to fight obesity and other health problems in Kentucky, which ranks near the bottom in many categories." It's as if Bush WANTS to be remembered as the most out of touch, ineffective president this country has ever endured, bar none.

They're just as gay as gay men. So what these studies show is that clearly, having a man involved increases your risk of STD's. So, by this way of thinking, men should be disqualified from being clergy or attending church. Or some other equally "logical" conclusion.

He wasn't opposed to just abortion, mind you, but birth control, something that the vast, vast majority of Americans use and agree with. It came about a week after he admitted that he got the message from the election.
