There should be no reason for this, it's not like the kid is a fellow politician. Why it matters to this guy makes no sense. It's actually fairly creepy, and I'm going to assume something just by the interview. I think he's a closet case himself. He looks like Pee Wee Herman, only in an alternate unfunny universe.

Creepy." I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he rejected him or something. It's the only way I could rationalize why this guy was harassing some college kid. Creepy, indeed! Oh, and ecdc, I did see that update this morning. I'm glad something happened. For a little bit, his boss defended him...now it looks like he's going to be disciplined, or fired.

But, there is no doubt the guy needs some mental help.

[It gets into the gray area given that his target is in the process of winning a restraining order against him. Shirvell has been all kinds of creepy.] There's an up-side to this story. Nearly everyone in Michigan has come out in support of Chris Armstrong, the openly-gay Michigan Student Assembly President [the target of Shirvell's psychotic screeds], from our Govenor to the President of the University of Michigan to the UM student body to a huge FaceBook group. Interestingly, Mike Cox, Michigan's Attorney General, to whom Shirvell reports, is also trying to distance himself from Shirvell. Nobody knows why Shirvell is currently on paid leave. Cox has issued a series of contradictory statements about Shirvell's behavior and employment status. Cox is also one of only ten state attorney generals who felt the need to officially support No Gay Marriage in California.
