The President was getting tired of the press, I suppose, so he pretty much said "screw them" (I can sympathize with his frustration, he seems very micro-managed from watching that show). The only reason I'm bothering to correct this, is that IF that were a secret service demand and the president said "no, screw you guys, I'm going now", I think my opinion of the guy would drop like a rock. ;p I mean, THAT'S a security issue and he needs to let them do their job of course. Having the press tell the President to "hang on a sec", and the prez saying "no" though is just fine by me.

Maybe one of the Presidents said let's go bowl a few games and have a beer. The fact is it's not a big deal. Heck my boss bought sub sandwiches for everyone last week.

I'm not complaining about it, but it was 'media day' at the white house and so they planned for a few photo ops along the way. And by the way, doesn't everybody remember that clinton was famous for jogging to mcdonalds - he did it quite a lot.

Of course it was staged (all though I get the feeling the President enjoys these little "escapes" for personal reasons). Why would they go through all that rigamarole (including the Prez actually doing all the ORDERING? I mean, come on!) if not for a few "with the people" photos. They could just send out Gibbs if they need burgers. Or Biden. Neither would attract much attention.

I predice Rahm Emmanuel isn't long for that office. He will either leave to run for elected office or have a heart attack. That is one stressed looking dude.
