It is leading to starvation, destruction of the environment (including the most sensitive and beautiful palces in the world) and there is ample evidence that the carbon footprint of the process to create biofuels is bigger than the carbon footprint of (gasp) oil. And yet the politicians continue to push biofuels as there answer to the world's energy problems. It's very frustrating.
