Or maybe it's a cute and endearing GOP thing. I don't get it.

Maybe the word "nuclear" should just be changed to "maverick" instead.

OUT: Newkulur energy. Newkulur weapons. Newkulur family.

IN: Maverick energy. Maverick weapons. Maverick family.

Much easier to remember, rolls right off the tongue.

In case you've forgotten (I posted it in another thread), Jimmy Carter pronounces it "nucular," too, and he was a nuclear engineer by training.

But her use of 'nukular' assuming via ignorance rather than just a slip of the tongue is inexcusable for (as zuux says) one who declares "energy is my area of expertise".

The Realtor was a really nice (college educated) guy. When he mentioned another "Real a tor" my eyes bugged out for a moment but I didn't think he was an idiot :)

You know, there were more jobs created in the U.S. economy under Jimmy Carter's 4 years than under 8 years of GWB -- and that's by a factor of 2.

Why not? We changed the spelling of aluminIUm after all. In the US, its spelled (and pronounced) "aluminUm".
