How DARE that mother and the doctors try to protect that nine year old tramp (er, I mean rape victim)!?

I am extremely sickened by the Vatican response here. Even more than usual!

Pigs. Sickening pigs, and if THEY aren't a bunch of "politicos", I don't know what the word means!

I hope they burn in hell! (except there is no hell, of course)

Raping someone is not so bad, says the Catholic Church. Abortion is worse!

I am SERIOUSLY trying very hard not to violate community standards here by writing EXACTLY what I think deserves to be written.

    I'll hold my tongue.

But, I am sincerely disgusted. I am ASHAMED that I was ever catholic. And I absolutely LOATHE with all my heart those stupid folks who are making these proclamations and I hope, somehow, someday I'll have a chance to talk to them face to face so I can tell them exactly what I think of them.

Although there are some genuine atheists here on WE, for the most part, as far as I can tell the people that get upset about religion in the way that's been done in this and similar threads are much more likely to have an opinion along the lines of what you stated above. Yet, the reaction often seems to be as if that's not the case.

And all aside from this poor little girl in this particular horrific case, I have issues with the concept of "excommunication" in general. As a lifelong Christian (but not Catholic, obviously) I vehemently disagree with the whole notion. People don't have the right or authority to throw other people out of a supposedly Christian church. It goes against two of the most basic tenets of Christianity. . . .God loves all people, and only God should pass judgment.

And when you look at the specifics here (the girl's mother and doctors being excommunicated for the abortion that evidently saved the rape victim's life, but the rapist not being excommunicated). . . it defies all moral reasoning.

They are willing to complete the sacrafice and kill the daughter in the name of dogma.

The Vatican has someone assigned to LP?

And my faith and belief in God is never questioned, but some of the people doing the legwork, well that should always be questioned.

And the church refuses to excommunicate this guy?? What is it with the Catholic Church and sexual abuse of minors?

More serious than raping two innocent little girls, including a handicapped one?? Saving the life of a 9-year-old rape victim is viewed as a heinous crime??

    This is very disturbing.
