According to what I've read in the news the water levels are way down in Florida and that is making the gators much more aggressive than usual. I still wouldn't worry about them... just don't get too close to bodies of water and you should be OK. Don’t have a false sense of security about “docile†gators though. There is no such thing.

See coming from the UK the scariest thing we have are ......um........ slugs!..lol ( I know there are grass snakes somewhere in the UK but I dont know anyone who has ever seen one ) no poisonous insects, no gators, no fire ants. No Epcot though either....Im coming back as soon as I can!!
