We were recently sent yet another one, and this one had some questions that were strikingly different than the usual fluff.

Mixed in with the usual questions were these, and if I don't get the exact wording right, it isn't intentional:

    - What has to happen for us to consider someone a failure as a parent?

    - What has to happen to consider someone a success as a parent?

    - What were my goals when I recently visited? What did I hope to accomplish?

    - What did I play as a child and why did I enjoy it so much?

    - Do I have any nose piercings?

    - Do I have any tattoos?

My first reaction was to ask what in the world does this have to do with anything? Frankly, I still don't get it.

I have no idea what they're getting at with the questions about tattoos and piercings, but I think it's kind of a fun question!

This seems to be the only one that really gets to the core of the matter. All of the other surveys beat around the bush on this, asking what could make your experience more "magical" or something like that. But at the same time, it's really hard to quantify what you want from a vacation. You know if you were satasfied with the experience, but you may not be able to articulate your hopes for it as clearly.

The next question was "Why?" Our response was, "Because it doesn't suck any more!" The survey taker fought back a smile and said that that wasn't one of her choices, but that she'd write it in for us. She then gave us a magical moment with free FPs for being her most entertaining survey respondents of the night.

Funny, they never seem to ask the goths, or the bikers, or those strange people that constantly talk to themselves.

At least they're open-ended questions, not (seemingly) designed to elicit a pre-desired response. But seriously: "What has to happen for us to consider someone a failure as a parent?" ???

Wonder how they'd respond if you said "they let their kids grow up to be survey takers."

There were other questions related to tattoos and piercings but I couldn't remember them exactly, so I didn't include them here. (I have been in the hospital with pneumonia and my brain is a bit more addled than usual.) It was something like not just nose piercings but any other face piercings and tattoos not just on the arms but legs, chest, etc. They were yes and no questions so there was no opportunity to be snarky.

Ah - I didn't think of that. That's plausible. Well done!

I try to be extra careful in the parks especially in the wintertime to wash my hands, use hand sanitizer, keep my hands away from my eyes, nose, mouth etc, as you're always going to be exposed more. I also ride public transportation to and from work, so have to be careful there, too. I try to drink lots and lots of water every day and that has helped to reduce the number of colds and flu dramatically for me.

I just got finished with a Disneyland survey (about a recent visit to DCA), but there were no "unusual" questions on it.
