Do you try to work with them? It's an interesting moral dilemma, and companies are not always so great with morals (all the more kudos to Google for their current stand!). In any case, looking at the China market one need look only as far as BAIDU.com, a rocket ship of a company on the New York Nasdaq by the way, who is "the Google of China", and who by all measures is utterly state sponsored and impervious to outside competition. Check it out...it's a totally crappy website. http://www.baidu.com Now check out their standing in the NAZ.. http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=BIDU (granted, today is no good day to highlight ANY company lol...but still their stock price is near quadruple the IPO just a few years back, and at one point it was worth 8 times the IPO price) Sort of off topic, I know, but I'm just mentioning this to highlight the fact that Google has a lot to contend with in China, assuming they want to do business there.

In a world where everybody is either trying to be all PC and not do anything offensive or do things so offensive that they get in the news all over the world for it, it's nice to see that there are still folks with a little bit of sense (on both sides) who approach the matter as if they actually had a brain in their head. And am I the only one who thinks it's kind of funny that Mr X was so excited about Google supporting one side of the issue that he went out and posted a link from Yahoo in the same thread? Irony much?

This is a very good public relations move, not to mention a show of support for all of Google's gay employees and their families.

Plus, they probably figured it was cheaper than having to replace their yes on 8 signs. JK Google is free to endorse whomever they want (too bad China will never be ever to see their endorsement).
