Boston PD is controlled detonating a third device in the city. Safe to assume this wasn't an accident.

I rest my case. I'm going to try staying away from the news for a few days so I can wait until the silliness subsides and some actual journalism gets going. Sigh.

I am sick and tired of the media trying to "outscoop" each other and throw journalistic integrity out the window..

I called my Boston friends, who normally work nearby but it turns out both had the day off (state holiday I think), so that made me feel better - especially since one of them I know has watched the marathon in person before. I'm swearing off coverage for at least a little while.

NBC is probably doctoring videos behind the scenes right now...

Yes, because it's so creative and thoughtful to criticize the media. Maybe, just maybe, some of them are being responsible.

I can think of a half dozen instances where NBC was being irresponsible over the last year, so I took offense to the comment about how NBC was doing such a good job with coverage...

You took offense? Seriously? Yes, you are definitely entitled to be offended because some guy on the internet said something you don't like. That makes perfect sense. Next time I'll make sure to check with you first before I post to make sure you're not offended.

But by all means, go right along being cynical and outraged at the people who report the news.
