Why Iran persists with this is amazing to me. As long as Iran would keep its figurative mouth shut, I doubt very much Israel would launch any kind of attack. But after a while, Israel has to righteously wonder if Iran's talk isn't just smoke. Like Iraq before them, they could learn that empty military boasting could bring them a lot more than they thought, except Israel wouldn't screw around like the U.S. did. They'd likely make such a large, quick, precise attack Iran wouldn't be recognizable to anyone afterwards.
