How does this guy get away with saying so many offensive things and not become totally discredited?

And this is the same guy who says it's OK to make comparisons of our President to Hitler?

Apparently, in his mocking of Jews, Rush has a bit of a Hitler-ian streak himself.

Because people keep paying attention to him.

Awfully easy to do these days.

His listeners aren't the type who would be swayed by the critics anyway...so...why all the fuss?

And GOP policymakers who are elected to office. They are heavily influenced by the Limbaugh rhetoric and rarely rebuke him.

Sorry, I'm with SG. It's just not that simple.

Fox News and Limbaugh and their ilk are hopelessly intertwined with the Republican party and the Republican base. Attempts to make comparisons to Taco Bell don't change that. Like it or not, they're extremely influential within the party and help determine the direction of the party. Take them away, the Republican party would be a totally different animal.

They are not just "entertainment" who gives the customer what they want.

Does it just make you feel better to point out the hypocrisy of others?

It is like elections these days that I am sick of. Instead of candidates saying what they are "for", they point out the flaws in the other candidate. Thus we have these riveting election cycles these days.

Are we all contributing to the problem?

You reach a tipping point as these statements build up. It's tough to predict when that point will be, but a person can't go on uttering racist and sexist remarks habitually without the taint of those remarks clouding every other statement he makes. When do we reach that tipping point? I don't know. But the more the evidence builds against this racist and sexist bully, the closer you get to completely discrediting and putting him out of business.

The endgame of NOT calling them out is to wind up living in the Christian Wingnut version of Iran.

Humans are a lot more gullible than they like to believe. Never underestimate the power of professionally prepared propaganda. Ignore it long enough, and next thing you know you're getting a visit from your friendly neighborhood SS.

Both Rush and Reed should be tared and feathered

What a sick thing to say.

Assuming you've EVER opened up a history book, you should be ashamed of yourself for making such a sick, twisted comment.
