Their Billy Goat Ale was actually pretty good. Ciccone painted Royko as an alcoholic smoking chimney who partied much too hard into his 50's (read didn't slow down until his second marriage. His descent into liquor hell after his first wife died was horrific. For such a good writer, he was very insecure about his talent, but then again, so are a lot of writers. But whatever- it's too bad no one has really taken up where he left off- the town could use it.
