“It’s like a quasi-vegetable byproduct paste. That you smear on your toast for breakfast,” Obama said sarcastically adding for emphasis, “sounds good, doesn’t it?”<<

    >>Prime Minister Gillard said that vegemite is a “byproduct of making beer,” a yeast paste – and that the “biggest error” with vegemite is to put too much on your toast.

“You don’t put it on like jam or anything like that. You do it very lightly, spread it very thinly. And it’s good,” the prime minister said, adding that people who start eating it younger in life tend to crave it as they get older.<<

I'm looking forward to Sarah Palin declaring her enthusiasm for Vegemite in a tweet tomorrow, if she hasn't already done so.

(The Prime Minister is right, by the way. The stuff's good IF you spread it see-through thin, rather than in peanut butter quantities.)

(When I saw you had posted in this topic, I was SURE it was to extol the virtues of Marmite. Boy was I wrong!)

Yup, she's right - you definitely need to use it sparingly! I like vegemite, but you do have to grow up with it I think. Vegemite and cheese together is SO good. Having said that, if I accidentally put too much on I just can't stand it.
