I would say yours, since you obviously meant to type "whose" instead of "who's."

there are some members of Congress you can blame for the entire period though.

when I heard Newt was gaining in the polls this morning I had this same though SPP-- it's really sad because I still believe Barack has the same shortcomings I pointed out when he ran based on his roles here in Illinois previously. Here's basically who I thought he was ( to steal a line fro Denny Green) But someone needs to show me someone better right now...and I just don't see it.

Here's the main theme that needs to be pounded home. Obama, for better or worse, has TRIED to put forth programs, TRIED to act on his promises, TRIED to work with the GOP to the point where his proposals mimic the sainted Reagan, but when from the outset of Obama's presidency the GOP's leadership states that their sole goal is to ensure Obama looks bad and is not re-elected, rather than work with him and serve their own constituencies, to the point where they're voting against their own ideas because HE brought them forward, THEY need to be asked what THEY'VE done to try and help this country rather than their own power hungry self-interests. They cannot say they voted him down because his programs are socialist, or whatever false label they want to stick on them, because they're killing their own damn policies. That's the basic question- what have THEY tried to do constructively? What have they done besides just saying no?

Answer: not a damn freaking thing.

As for President Obama... he is no where near progressive enough for me. But I fully realize that in my lifetime, no one will ever hold the White House who's significantly left of center. And until we get money out of politics and abolish the electoral college, we'll be stuck with a significant percentage of Presidents who are mostly right of center, who got into office through the actions of well-heeled corporations and billionaire-funded SuperPACs.

The GOP is now experiencing the same candidate crisis the Dems dealt with in 2004 with Kerry. I held my nose and voted for him -- anyone would have been better than W -- but he certainly wasn't my preferred candidate. Truthfully, I didn't have one. Now the Republicans know what that feels like.

Exactly, SPP. Whenever someone here challenges a conservative poster's talking points about the Dems failing and Obama failing and their "Where are the jobs, Mr President?" rhetorical nonsense by pointing out that Speaker Boehner has introduced ZERO job bills since the Republicans took back control of the House, the discussion grinds to halt and/or the subject gets changed and/or the progressive poster is personally attacked.

Before last November's election, any time someone challenged the GOP talking points, it was met with the sharp retort, "We don't control Washington. You Dems control the House and the Senate." Well... you guys control the House now. Where are the jobs bills? WHERE ARE THEY? Why isn't Speaker Boehner doing what he said he would do when he ran for re-election last year? "We'll get the country back to work again, if you do the patriotic thing by sending Nancy Pelosi packing."

OK, my Rep is no longer Speaker of the House. Your guy is the Speaker.

I blame the Tea Party's continuing literacy implosion on GWB. No child left behind. We'll work to make sure EVERYBODY is as dumb as a sack of hammers.

    He misspelled Barack too. Typical.

Now, I will agree that Obama hasn't fixed everything. But let's not pretend he was the one that blew up the engine.
And I don't believe for a second the a McCain administration would have done any better at putting it back together. More tax cuts and deregulation is what got us there in the first place.

Does that include the portion that you sent there (assuming that you voted for at least one of your Senators or your Congressman)?
