I've begged him to take me off his list, but I think he wants to "inform" me of "what's REALLY happening" or something. I patiently point him to snopes to point out that pretty much all of these things have no basis in fact whatsoever, but it does no good. He doesn't WANT to know the truth, he wants to know what he wants to know.

They go immediately from "we are setting up a committee to look into how best to protect our oceans" to "Obama's gonna lockup Jimmy for fishing". How about just don't f up our oceans and the rest of the planet. I mean do we really have to wait to be told to not pollute the earth, or put that we have too much salt in diets. If it weren't for commissions and committees that examine these issues and help set policy, many people would be still dumping used motor oil down the storm drains and worse. You're too young, DAR, to remember how filthy things were getting back in the 1960's from air pollution, water pollution and the rest. Just basic littering was a real problem, let alone the toxic sludge being dumped into rivers, lakes, waterways. When the EPA was started, businesses screamed bloody murder (many of which are now proud of how "green" they are.)
