I keep wondering what's next. I thought the vitriol of the campaign was beyond belief, but at this point they might as well have been running commercials of puppies and rainbows compared to now!

He ran away from his "Tiller the Baby Killer" rhetoric so fast, trying to pretend that he never uttered that phrase, ever. None of these clowns ever think about the consequences of their actions. All they care about is how popular and profitable they are, right here and right now. Nothing else matters.

Bachmann even stated recently on a conservative talk radio program that she wants Minnesotans "armed and dangerous." They aren't stupid enough to not understand where such vitriolic rhetoric eventually leads, so pleading ignorance on their part when a Democratic member of Congress winds up dead is absolutely no excuse. Anyone with half a brain and a modest level of decency would ditch this party by the roadside and register independent. The GOP politicians outside the Capitol who were "egging on" the angry mob who spat on Dems and called out bigoted slurs should be ashamed of themselves, but they're not. They were encouraging this behavior and relishing every single minute of it. If you're still a registered Republican after all of this crap, you might as well be one of the tea baggers who's participating. And NO ONE had better try to equate this garbage behavior with anything that Dems have done in the past. Dick Armey and his ilk are funding these jerks and giving them a well-publicized soapbox to spew this hate. No one on the left ever worked to this degree to advance bigotry and prejudice aimed at the opposing party to this extreme. NO ONE.

Luckily, the family smelled the gas before anything happened. In their mailbox was a death threat. This is getting seriously ugly and the Republicans need to come out strongly against these violent tactics before someone gets hurt or killed. And I do not mean the half- a$$ed attempts by Boehner and Cantor today. They basically went on and on about how people are angry and are right to be angry and then tacked on a "but violence is uncalled for" at the end of their rants. Enough is enough. We have a very sad history of political assassinations and assassination attempts in this country. The Republicans need to stop egging these lunatics on.
