Somewhere I've heard that you can do this and the price of your ticket (which you've paid for already) will be deducted when you buy your pass. The catch is that I'll be buying another SoCal pass which is blocked out on Saturdays. Is this plan possible? I have relatives coming for a weekend in March and the only day they can go is on Saturday.

Get a new one on your next visit, this gives you a new expiration date, so you get more days, and the first day of the "new" Annual Passport is never blocked out! You can either buy a one day ticket to the park, and then upgrade, or just go ahead and buy a new AP voucher at the Main Entry Plaza booths, they will give you a ticket to get in and process your AP (plus visit the park).

But if you look at the next scheduled trip, March of 2006, he/she will get about an extra Month and a half, with an March 2007 expiration date, PLUS he get to visit the park on a day that he/she normally would have had to pay $30 for a Blockout pass. How many days extra do you get, depends. But not many folks go every day, so a person who goes every week, they would get an extra week, a person who goes every other week, an extra two weeks. And with some planning, making an visit just before the AP expires, many folks can get an extra month before they feel they need to go again...

As fate would have it, two days later, I found that they cancelled my pass due to my new one being in the mail, and the Monorail Station Cast Member had to put in some sort of an override to let me through the turnstyle. The next day, I got two letters in the mail: one saying "Renew your pass today!" and one with my new pass.

We also have the following week and weekend at DL - so my thought now is should I go to Universal on Friday instead and buy my pass on Saturday and go that day since the following Saturday will be blacked out and at least I'll have 1 Saturday during the trip at DL. I got one of those front of the line tickets for US so I get a free annual pass with it and thought I might go on the next Saturday that DL is blacked out. Or maybe head to Knott's. Anyway, I know that was confusing but I hope you can sort through it and give me a little advise. Basically, should wait until Saturday to by my pass instead of Friday?? Thanks!!
