Many more jobs were added in April than expected, and while short-term prospects are a struggle, the long-term outlook is gaining steam.

Forever. They're still doing it, despite supply side/trickle down having been thoroughly discredited among most serious economists, and 30 years of evidence that it just doesn't work. But evidence means little to true believers blinded by ideology, so don't expect the whining to stop any time soon.

Damn hope you are right, but as we know over 60,000 of those jobs came from McDonald's and as we know unemployment went up to 9% for the first time in 5 months so things really are not looking good, but I hope your optimism and faith comes true.

So if they start looking for work again the unemployment rate will rise if they can't landa job.

The U6 index is a much better index as it includes discouraged job seekers as well as those who have part time jobs but want a full time job. The U6 rate is currently 15.9%
