Perhaps t'was OUR hearts grew 8 sizes too small... *sigh* Nah...Bush sucks. No sympathy here, not for THAT criminal who pissed all over MY United States Constitution! <---whistling "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder and looking forward to January 20, 09 and President Barack OBAMA!!

What destroyed Bush was his arrogance and the belief that he could do it all in the face of constant criticism I really wished he listened to people a little more and not just Rumsfeld and Cheney. If he avoided the war in Iraq, kept things a little more transparant and actually read the constitution, he might be leaving on a higher note, a much higher note. To this day I still cant believe Clinton left the White House with a 70% approval rating AFTER he was impeached and a sex scandal. Bush will be lucky if he can keep it in the high 20's at this point.

I do think he was happy to give his friend's war contracts but most politicians would do this. (It's possible that other politicians might have been less blatant about it.) In the end, his stubborness and intense focus on this desire is what led him to be remembered as one of the worst presidents, not the best. Frankly, I think he was treated better than he deserved, not worse. After 9/11, the press went incredibly easy on him, much like Reagan after he was shot.
