    San Diego:

Six undocumented Mexican immigrants were arrested today by U.S. Border Patrol agents at Qualcomm Stadium, after a report that they were stealing food and water meant for evacuees, according to spokesman Damon Foreman.

San Diego police responded to a call about alleged theft from the evacuation center and encountered six people in a van who didn't speak English and didn't have California driver's licenses, Foreman said. The police officers called the Border Patrol, who arrived at the stadium and made the arrests, he said. Foreman said the immigrants admitted they were Mexican citizens and that they were stealing. <<

Sorry, but anyone who steals stuff designed for relief victims, no matter their immigration status is scum.

I agree 100%. So why didn't you title your post "Human Scum found stealing relief supplies"?

Can you imagine if you said , "Black people found stealing supplies?', or 'Mexicans', 'Gays', whatever, it just sounds biased.

Look, I hope the scum get what's coming to them, but that statement kind of reads underhandedly like you can't trust none of those criminal illegal aliens and be SCARED....veeeery SCARED!! ;)

And due to space reasons in the title header, I did use the shorter word "aliens" instead of immigrants.

I also saw an interview with a San Diego Police officer at Qualcomm Stadium talking to a KNBC (or maybe KNSD, the NBC affilite in San Diego) reporter, who stated the issue of what to charge them with.

The police officer did state that at least one fo the group admitted they were taking the stuff to sell it, and they were having problems with coming up with a way to arrest them, then found out they were illegal aliens and contacted ICE, who came out and took the 6 into custody.

And yeah, I understand he's just citing nothing more than the paper itself cited, but it just feels to post something that HERE is trying to create a political point of view over it that's all. I don't really get why this article have to be cited here other then for a politcal view point.

And that's fine, but its how I see it.

Too bad it was needed, but a good way to help prevent "looters", and that is what the folks who took the supplies to resell were doing.

Sort of like back in the late 1960's when people would refer to African Americans as "the Coloreds." At a certain point, the term, which was an improvement over uglier names, became passe and/or offensive, whether or not that was the intention. So, fewer and fewer people used it.

Some view this as PC in its zenith, or a conspiracy by the main stream media, but be that as it may, the term 'illegal aliens' is one you are seeing less and less as it immediately sets people off.

If I lived there, who knows? I might feel the same way (though I hope not). But NOT living there the attitudes are absolutely incomprehensible to me.

EVERY time an illegal did something wrong, especially in Japan it was EVERYWHERE!! An illegal Chinese killed a family in 2003 or 2004 and I swear it just because an excuse for people to unload their thoughts of what they REALLY thought of them and there were all kinds of calls to get them all out ASAP!!

So yeah it doesn't help when these people illegally crossed the border (or in Japan and Korea cases overstay their VISA's or sneak in through freighter boats) and then in help commiting crimes. It DOESN'T help their cause and it causes less sympathy all around from others that do, not to mention the ones that wanted them out yesterday.

Of course, I imagine not all of them are there, regardless of where 'there' because they were good and honorable citizens where they came from, but I DO hate how those few that cause trouble already casts a bigger shadow on those people that are 'there' who is trying to earn some money and make a living to feed their children. One shouldn't be demonized more than than they already are.

I count my blessing I didn't have to get evacuated this time, but who knows what will happen over the next few months, as Fire Season just started in the SoCal area.

We need to build fire breaks, and clear out dead growth NOW.

And if weather conditions allow, do some controlled burns.

There are still plenty of areas in Southern California, heck the entire South West that NEED fire protection measures TODAY.

This info was point out YEARS ago after the major Cedar Fire, but hardly any actions were taken in the last few years.

We need to take action NOW to try and prevent tragedies in the near future.

    Why?

If it were Canadians living in America illegally and stealing stuff...would the title still be racist?

True that. Thing is in Asia that sort of sentiment gets passed on to people who are living there legally as well.

Did you know there's a new Immigration rule starting next month in Japan where all foreigners get photographed and fingerprinted at the border, even permanant resident aliens who are returning from a trip?

    That sucks. Welcome home, eh?

so now we are worried about the feelings of people that have no right to be here and are commiting crimes? Im sorry, but that is the last person im worried about ticking off. I agree, shoot them on site. Than send the bodies back to whatever country they came from and let them deal with burrying them.
