Yup, we've sure done a bang up job there as well. Yet another casualty of the Iraq War.

Disgusting - these people are behaving like animals.

But this is what happens when you have a culture that treats women as property, and teaches men that they are superior to women. Look at Africa, and all the horrible rapes that occur there as well in times of war. It's disgusting - and something that won't change until those societies learn to treat women as equals.

But there are women in this country who follow Islamic law - and that just never made any sense to me. If I were a woman, I couldn't imagine walking around in all those robes while every other woman around me was in shorts and t-shirts. (I've seen people like that at Disneyland, and always wondered what they thought of the other women in the parks.)

I'm sorry but a failed Afghan strategy did not suddenly make women 2nd class citizens there...

Nor did anyone say otherwise. But we went to Afghanistan with the promise of capturing and defeating the people who attacked us. Hasn't happened. Part of that was to help build a better Afghan society. Hasn't happened.

We turned our backs on the Afghani people so we could go to Iraq, a country that was no threat to us and didn't attack us. All the people that love to be "rah rah, USA, USA!" also claim to be Christian. How Christian is it to leave a country like Afghanistan like this so we can go fight in another one where we didn't belong? We could've helped the situation. Instead, we turned a blind eye to it.

This story isn't about blaming the U.S. or George W. Bush for the appalling standards in Islamic countries. It's about reminding us of just what we gave up to go to Iraq. And yet, despicably, people continue to defend this total fiasco.

We didn't "pull out", but we shifted the bulk of our forces to Iraq. The proverbial, "Taking our eye off the ball".
I'm not convinced the Bush is really interested in catching Osama Been Forgotten.
