I remember Dinah Shore singing that one as well, but that doesn't mean that Pat didn't. (All this is before my time BTW.)

THEY remember Pat Boone, and embraced him a long time ago. He's the quintessential white guy crooning "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag". He become somthing of a parody of himself a long time ago - like William Shatner - except for people who don't get the joke. He also wears his christianity on his sleeve, thus tieing him further to the willful ignorance we see from this demographic all the time. What this represents is that the deep-seated loathing and resentment against Obama because of his race is alive and well with this crowd - they're never going to come around. The good news is that many of them, like Boone, are getting very old and don't have much longer to go. The bad news is that you can't just wait out ignorance and fear - it's always going to be there.
